The Game Boy Micro was released today in Japan, and is scheduled to be released in the US on September 19th. With a 4-inch width and a 2-inch height, it’s a little hard to imagine how small the thing is, until you seen the real thing (not that I’ve seen it, but I drew a 4×2-inch rectangle on a piece of paper. And yup, it IS small).
Here are some of the differences between the Game Boy Micro and the Game Boy Advance SP
- Smaller. (4-inch x 2-inch x 0.7-inch)
- Lighter. (2.8 ounces)
- Micro uses a backlit screen which is better than SP’s side-lit 32k color LCD.
- Standard headphone jack.
- Swappable faceplates.
