Finally, after 15 years of research, Honda is getting ready to ship motorcycles equipped with airbags, mounted on the front fork.
The four crash sensors will detect collisions and inflate the airbag in a blink of an eye. 60 milliseconds to be exact. This system should help reduce the fatality rate of motorcycle accidents.
Then again, this only helps if the bike crashs head-on. Wouldn’t the rider be thrown further if the motorcycle got hit behind and the airbag inflates?
