Are you one of those that went to Wal-mart to check on Xbox 360’s availability last friday? If you did and happily placed an order, chances are you were greeted with an absurd total price of $799.92! $399.92 for the console and $400 for the shipping costs.
Apparently, there was a glitch on Wal-mart’s website that caused this error. And they will cancel every Xbox 360 order that was placed prior to November 22.
I can already hear the screams and shrieks.
Update: Lots of confusion around this issue. But apparently, the part about Wal-mart cancelling orders may not be true.
- The glitch is the fact that the Xbox 360 was available for ordering too early.
- The $400 shipping cost is for overnight shipping and is supposedly accurate.
- People who placed orders has gotten calls from Wal-mart representatives saying their order was cancelled.
- But yet, some has received emails stating that their Xbox was shipped out.
- According to this forum post over at TeamXbox, someone spoke to a Wal-mart representative and confirmed that his/her order was indeed shipped out.
Hopefully we can get some official words from Wal-mart.
