This is too interesting to pass up. In this picture is supposedly a bottle of liquid condom designed for ladies’ use. On the bottle, it says Nanometer-Silver Cryptomorphic Condom. What the heck is that?
This world’s first liquid condom went on sales this week in China, after China’s health and drugs administration formally gave the manufacturer the green light.
The manufacturer claims that it forms a physical membrane inside the vagina, protecting it from infection, acting as a barrier to pregnancy and providing a lubricating effect.
Well, if it really is that good, it might just put Durex out of business. But most often, if things appear too good to be true, it most likely is! Any ladies out there dare to use some of these and give me some feedback?

Ok, I don’t think it’s necessarily poor quality because it’s from china but on the flip side just because most of the stuff we use is from China doesn’t mean it’s grade A. Obviously, your parents buy all of your stuff because if you actually paid for it you’d realize that China has two products… broke stuff and pirated stuff. QA is horrible on new electronics. My family’s first VCR lasted 15 years… every other VCR I’ve purchased lasted less than 2.

Here are my concerns:
1) What if the stuff isn’t evenly applied to the walls of the v*****? ….oops, you are a daddy.
2) How do you remove it? I would assume that it dissolves after a couple of hours.
I can imagine the scenarios already:

Consider the posibility that it was NOT developed in China. Maybe company from another country, a first-world country, developed it and it was not aproved in that country, so they go and try in another country and… well… China being as desperate as it is just decided to give it a shot…
It does sound quite risky. How could you possibly apply a good uniform layer, that covers the whole v***** (so infections don’t go thru), uterus and the little… tunnels… dunno their name in english, where the actual proccess of getting pregnant begins? And then, if it will resist the friction, why not put it on the p****, where you can be sure you applied all over it? -maybe the idea is that men don’t have to worry about it… but damn, I’d hate to be on the situation described by Andy and I wouldn’t risk it. I rather make sure and wear a condom.
Oh, and one last thing. All those Taiwan, Vietnam, China, etc stuff that you buy everyday and that has a decent quality was not developed in those country but rather just built there. The only products those countries export are poor-quality imitations they develop on their own. So, if it was indeed developed in China, I wouldn’t go as far as assuming it’s good quality…

I live in China, and if you think Chinese stuff is crap after it is exported you should see what kind of garbage they retain for the domestic market…lets just say that you get the best of the best in the States…I’ve been here for years and hell no I wouldn’t trust Chinese with “state of the art” medical technology.
These people thought that smoking cigarettes protected you from SARS…not to mention took OTC antibiotics to fight it.

I don’t take issue with the fact that it’s made in China…more along the lines of I don’t think that the product would be quite reliable. Evenly coating the v*gina would be a big issue,if you missed a spot, you could catch something nasty or get pregnant! Also, they don’t say how it comes off after….in my eyes, that could cause irritation….i think i’ll stick to more conventional methods….

I don’t know how many people here that left comments have actually been to china, but I can tell you this, almost everything you wear is made in either china, cambodia, vietnam, thailand, madacasgar, india, singapore, or the philippines. Yes, other countries develop their product then produce it in China for a much lower production cost. China also develops it’s own products as well. On the quality level, they pretty much go by the rule, “you get what you paid for it.” Local products have a lower QC (Quailty Control) Standard. Most products produced in China for export go through the foreign company’s own QC Standard(much higher than the local standard). So sometimes when your new made in china TV, VCR or DVD player breaks down on you, don’t go blaming the chinese first for the problems(maybe 2nd, heh). Most likely it is the company that made your appliance is trying to cut corners by reducing costs on better/more reliable materials.

Its not that stupid to ask if you can relay on chinse products. For example there is now a chinese landrover available in Holland, but it’s made so cheap that it isn’t safe and will most likely be removed from the dutch market. Alot of chinese goods are mass produced, but lower quality. This doesn’t mean that we don’t like China or against chinese products. Alot of things like clothes are made there and they are just fine.

Cheers to that. I’ve been living here for nearly a year now, and it’s true that half the stuff sold in the west is made in China. Thing is, 90% of the people here could never afford to buy it. Average wage (my wage) out here in Gansu province is around 70GBP/125USD (1000 Yuan). For that reason, the stuff they sell here can sometimes be really, really shoddy quality.
However, I don’t think they are really that desperate for birth control. The simple solution i the countryside is: If you have more than one kid, you have to pay 40,000 Yuan. Who can afford that earning 1000 a year?
Back to topic, I still don’t really understand how it works. I mean, what do you do when the deed is done? URGH!

it’s not latex. it’s not even solid. you wouldn’t have to worry about friction, because it doesn’t say that it’s solid at all, all it says is a physical membrane. it also says it provides lubrication, so that obviously means that it’s more of a liquid than a solid like a condom

When I travel to foreign countries, the first thing I do is stay away from Tour Parties and expecially away from Texans and New Yorkers. They are embarrassing with their insults and claims that everything’s bigger and better in their home cities and states. I encountered some wealthy texans in Lanzhou and of course when they were served Yak to eat, they wouldn’t, and loudly spoke of how much better a Texas steak would be. Being an American was bad enough at this time. But I was so very glad I wasn’t from Texas. They were on a tour to see the Great Wall and the Ancient Silk Road Cities.
If any of you dumb ass americans tour China, it would be good if you learn some Chinese and try to understand their culture alittle. Try to accept their ways and foods they eat and you will have some of the best experiences you can ever have traveling. Remember you are in their home! The students every where, will try to help you, if you just try to be humble and gracious guest. That is if you’re capable of it.
And yes the Yak is delicious! I even drank snake blood with no ill effects among other things. Oh and they have been making noodles in Lanzhou longer than any peoples of the world. They are absolutely delicious and famous for them! The Chinese are a proud gracious people, except for the Authorities and they’re pretty much assholes worldwide! ;D

If you just knew what Nanometer-silver is, you would understand that it is even capable of killing viruses and literally all bacterial pathogens. Many americans use nanometer-silver even today and you can pick it up at most any health store in the US. But it is very expensive! If you’ve ever used a coating type lubricant this is exactly how this stuff works. No Latex! Does it work? Well as with any other product it is not 100% effective as even a condom has a failure rate associated with it. There are no guarantees even here!
What happens to it?
Answer: The sperm is killed instantly! And for the other person above who was wondering what happens afterwards, well that is quit simple! Most women I know, usually have to go pee after sex, so it is naturally just flushed out. Same as it would be with Contraceptive Foam. Plus they do have douche kits! It’s not so mysterious after all you lamers, and it is pretty much all natural ingredients! Read the advertisements on the net.
And for the poster above who commented that he’d rather just use a condom! Well if you just used a little common sense, you’d know it is meant to be used in the home mainly. Plus I don’t know about you, but there is nothing natural feeling about a condom to benefit any sense of intimacy.
