EverythingUSB is a bit late in reviewing the Razer Copperhead. Nonetheless, they did a good job. For those who haven’t heard of the Razer Copperhead, you’re probably not a gamer like myself. Razer makes one of the better gaming mouses. And the Razer Copperhead has brought optical precision up to 2000 dpi, from the 1600 dpi of its predecessor, Razer Diamondback.
Pros: Lightweight, symmetrical, precise and speedy; perfect primary buttons and wheel; onboard memory stores profiles for tourney players; firmware upgradeable; good grip; it glows.
Cons: Needs DPI buttons in center of mouse; no application profiles.
Verdict: A solid performer with solid support, the lightweight Razer Copperhead is a finely tuned gaming mouse that’s sorely lacking two buttons.
Some features:
- 2000 DPI Laser Engine Powered by Razer Precision™
- First Razer mouse to utilize Full Speed (12Mbps) USB
- 1000 Hz Ultrapolling™ with 1 ms response time as compared with 125Hz/8 ms of conventional gaming mice
- 7 independently programmable buttons optimized with Razer’s Hyperesponse™ technology
- Zero-Acoustic Ultraslick™ Teflon feet
- Size: 5.04″ length x 2.5″ width x 1.54″ height
- Ultra large non-slip rubber coated mouse buttons
- Gold plated USB connector for maximum conductivity
Even for non-gamers, the Razer Copperhead will make an awesome mouse. Especially for people like myself who spends a large part of our lives in front of the computer.

I’ll stick to the Diamondback for now then, I can’t stand using the higher resolution when not gaming, because I’m so used to switching.
Looking forward to the “Copperhead 2″ maybe.
