Are your MP3 player and your mobile phone part of your everyday essential gadget? Have you ever mourn at the hassle of having to frantically take off your headphones to answer your phone calls?
Hot from the ovens at Macworld, Tekkeon has unveiled myTalker. It is the first Bluetooth gateway that enables you to use your own music headphones to make and receive mobile phone calls, while listening to an iPod or any MP3 player.
Just connect myTalker between the MP3 player and the music headphones, and pair it with any Bluetooth cellphone, and viola! Calls are transmitted directly through the music headphones and the user speaks through a microphone built into myTalker, which easily clips to your shirt or collar.
Easily accessible buttons on myTalker allows you to perform tasks such as increasing, decreasing, or muting the call volume; using advanced calling features like last number redial, voice dialing, conference call, and call waiting. Visual and audio indicators provide headset status and low-battery notification.
With myTalker, digital music lovers get the convenience of a Bluetooth headset, without giving up their preferred music headphones.
Battery Life
myTalker runs on a built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery. A single charge provides up to 5 hours of talk time and 120 hours of standby time. It can be charged via a computer’s USB port, or a USB power adapter using the included USB charging cable.
Compact
One of the advantages of myTalker is that it weighs only 1.2oz (33g) and is small in size (1.1†x 1.9†x 0.5â€). You will probably find it difficult to feel its presence.
myTalker is compatible with any MP3 player equipped with a standard audio jack. And it pairs with any Bluetooth v1.1 or v1.2 cellphone. Here’s Tekkeon’s compatibility list. It supports both headset and hands-free profile of Bluetooth v1.2, with a range of up to 30 feet (10 meters).
Recommended retail price for myTalker (ET7000) is $74.95, which includes a one-year limited warranty. The package includes myTalker, a USB charging cable, and a user guide.
myTalker will be available from February 2006 onwards at Tekkeon retailers, and from the Tekkeon store.
