If you haven’t tried Opera Mobile, you really ought to give it a shot. It’s touted as the best web browser for small screen mobile devices such as cellphones and PDA. It’s fast, and its Small-Screen Rendering technology works really well, which dynamically reformats web pages to fit the width of any screen size. Another great plus is the support for major Web standards such as CSS2, DOM 2 and JavaScript.
Just released is the build for Windows Mobile Pocket PC. Being beta, you can’t avoid the bugs. Even then, a quick glance on this official forum thread shows that the majority likes what they see, with most everyone claiming that it’s much better than PocketIE. It should be a good thread to keep an eye on if you do plan on using this beta build of Opera.
Down side? Sure there is. It’s not free! But at least, the beta trial runs for 45-days, which is ample time for you to try it out and decide if it’s worth your bucks.
If you own a device that doesn’t run on Windows Mobile, check here to see if it’s supported. Not every device will get the version 8 love though, such as my Sony Ericsson P910 which is stuck at 6.31.
