Sexy or not, you decide. But we can’t resist sharing this wonderful piece of wearable tech with the ladies. The new Kaiteki Navi Wacoal bras and panties feature unique “polymers” that help regulate temperature. When temperature is above 25 degrees Celsius, the polymer melts and turns liquid, absorbing heat and keeping your body cool. And when temperature goes below 25 degrees Celsius, the polymer solidifies and releases heat, keeping your body all warm and fuzzy.
The Kaiteki Navi Wacoal lingerie should be available this month, with prices ranging from 1900 Yen to 8000 Yen (US$16 to US$67). The line will include t-shirts, camisoles, bras and panties.

Nice use of technology!
Good for the Canadian climate.

Interesting. I suppose it’s actually a polymer mix, since if it all melted, it would kinda disappear.
Still, though, it would only work if you kept varying across the 25 degree line. If it stayed above or below that all the time, it’d be pretty useless.

I don’t think you are getting it….. The material dissapates heat so if you were above 25c you would notice a difference… the material releases heat when below… How would it only work if you varied closely to 25c?

i dont think YOU are getting it. it says that when its above 25degrees, it absorbs the heat and stays cool. whenits below, it freezes and RELEASES THE HEAT. in other words. it releases the heat that it stored while above 25 degrees

i dont think any of you get it .. .
when above 25 c, it absorbs heat from your body, and then dissapates it, to cool you down.
below that temp, it acts as an insulator, releasing heat to the wearer and then hopefully keeping it ther, on the body. it was correctly phrased, just badly read. whetther or not it actually works is a different story entirely . . .

I don’t think I get it. What ever happened to layers? If it’s over 25c, why where underwear that heavy? and if it’s going to go below 25c, it’ll still be warm enough that you wouldn’t need thermal underwear, so what gives?

liquid underwear? sounds kind of kinky
February 9th, 2006 at 7:22 am
yea……if it melt when it gets hot….how do u wash and dry it?

Yet another one of you doesn’t get it… entirely, at least. So let me jump on this band wagon and explain how it is until the next person in line tells me I’m entirely wrong aswell in the true tradition of the internet. Some materials have the ability to actually give off heat when changing to a denser state of matter, like when cement hardens, and vice versa in order to cool off, like when quickly releasing the contents from a pressurized can, so according to the law of conservation of energy, some of the heat produced by this stupid womens underwear (why are all of us guys?) was actually stored in the form of potential energy untill the temp dropped to below 25 C. Kinda like a glow in the dark type thing, but with heat instead of light. But yeah, only a small percentage of the heat is actually stored and the rest is just dissapated. Reason why I’m writing this post? Because I can. And you don’t know me. And I’m very bored waiting for a ride. If somebody confronted me about writing this in real life, I would totally deny it. It’s kinda fun though. In fact, I’m gonna go somewhere else right now on the internet and participate in the most dummest ass thing untill my ride gets here. I might even come back here to post a link to it when I’m done. Peace out

Hehe, the lingerie itself doesn’t melt. It’s the polymer that melts.

I still don’t get it. Why would you want underwear that heats up if it’s barely less than 25c out? Wouldn’t you rather have it heat up if it was below 0c? Just a thought…

It probably doesn’t heat up much, given that the polymer wouldn’t completely harden at a few degrees below AND that it’s a gradual process, so some areas are hardening while others are still liquid, and then the heat that’s being released from the already hardened——–but that’s more than enough to think about…
The idea is clearly to maintain as close to what is thought to be a “comfortable” internal climate as possible without going into the extremes(that’s where Law of Conservation comes into play, as someone mentioned, since only the amount of energy absorbed can be released)
…I wonder if they have any plans of releasing this tech. for males….(not in the same fashion, of course)

i get it……………..if you put bread and cheese in it, in ten minutes you will have a grilled cheese..am I right? anyway I think chevy chase and dan akroyd wore these in Spys like us.

I think the first one(the one where the braand panties are connected) is REALLY HOT!especially on that cute japanese lady =D.
February 11th, 2006 at 11:20 pm
I wouldn’t buy this because, i wouldn’t want to wear a pair of panties that even felt even the slightest bit liquified
February 19th, 2006 at 10:44 am
Dude, that’s scary. XD I Wouldn’t use it.
