Canon announced several new additions to its “A” series PowerShot digital cameras, namely A430, A530, A540 and A700. Needless to say, the best among the list is the PowerShot A700. It is a 6 megapixels camera with 6x optical zoom, featuring ISO 800 for low-light shooting and a 2.5-inch LCD display. It is available for pre-order right now from Amazon at $349.99.

Next are the PowerShot A530 and PowerShot A540, which are pretty much the same except that the former has only 5 megapixels and a 1.8-inch display, whereas the latter has 6 megapixels and a 2.5-inch display. Both will feature 4x optical zoom and are capable of up to ISO 800 sensitivity.

The A530 is available for pre-order at $229.99, while the A540 is $299.99.

Lastly, we have the value-priced PowerShot A430. For only $179.99, it features a 4 megapixels sensor, 4x optical zoom, ISO 64-400, a 1.8-inch LCD display and runs on 2 x AA-sized batteries. Perfect for use with the new Duracell 15-minutes battery charger!
