mobiBLU DAH-1900 Claims to be MP3 Player with World’s Longest Battery Life

Music

The mobiBLU DAH-1900 is able to pump music for 6 days straight!

After taking the crown of the World’s Smallest MP3 Player, mobiBLU is back to claim a second one. That is the World’s Longest Lasting MP3 Player. Not only did their mobiBLU DAH-1900 win the crown, they blew their competitions away with a whooping 153-hours of play time per charge. That’s almost 8 times longer than the iPod 5G and more than 10 times longer than the Creative Zen Vision:M.

But of course, compromises are necessary. The mobiBLU DAH-1900 is unable to play videos, and it has an OLED display instead of a LCD. Everything else looks pretty good on paper:

  • Auto/Manual Lyric Streaming
  • MP3/WMA/PlaysForSure support
  • M3U Playlist
  • FM Radio
  • Voice/FM Radio/Music Recording
  • High-speed USB 2.0
  • SRS WOW Surround Sound

Here are some interesting observations. The website currently does not state how long it takes for a full charge. And the player is only available in 1GB and 2GB models, meaning you would probably have to listen to the same album about 7 times over before the battery runs dry. Doesn’t sound too exciting anymore eh?

The 1GB model is estimated to cost around $220, and the 2GB $275.

The battery life can be misleading
there comparing a flash based player that doesnt use more power to mp3 hard disk players that need lots of battery

BTW my creative zen M is the best thing out there

Did you notice that the iPod Nano has the same battery life as the 30GB iPod 5G? And it’s actually even lesser, if compared to the 60GB. So it’s not really accurate to say that every flash based player will need MUCH less battery than their hard disk counterparts.

Longer eh? Say an album is generally an hour and a half, two if you wish.
1.5 times 7 is only 10.5 hours, two hours an album would only be 14 hrs.
iPods gist running time is around 8 right? well that doesn’t seem to be too much longer. It says “you would probably have to listen to the same album about 7 times over before the battery runs dry.” for the interesting observations… Although you think iPod sucks, I’d rather stick to an iPod than this piece of crap with only 1-2 gigs of memory… Pitty!
