Before the Sony DCR-SR100, the only other notable hard disk camcorders are the JVC Everio camcorders. Hard disk camcorders have the advantage of long recording time and zero recording media cost, so it’s good to see Sony jumping into this ship as well.
Features:
- 30GB hard disk

does anyone know if the hard disk’s are swappable? having “only” 7 hours doesn’t seem like enough.

Bracex2000,
I do not think the hard disk is swappable. You could probably do it, but you are going to have to take the camera apart. It does not have a quick disconnect like a battery. I am going from a VHS-C to this and 7 hours is forever. It will also do 20 hours at a lower quality.
