Panasonic Let’s Note Y5 notebook is tough! No more visiting the notebook manufacturer whenever you spill water accidentally.

If you enjoy sitting on your notebook or spilling coffee onto your keyboard, you might be happy to know that Panasonic’s latest Let’s Note series of Toughbooks are a perfect match for you. These notebooks are able to withstand a pressure of up to 220 pound (100 kg) and the keyboards are water resistant, making them notebooks that are very suitable for the rowdy crowd. As handy as the water resistant feature is, don’t go thinking that you could bring this notebook together with you into the pool. Minor spills are fine.

The specifications are impressive as well, with the highest-end Y5 model toting a 1.5GHz Core Duo processor, 1GB RAM, 14-inch 1400×1050 display, 60GB hard drive, 802.11a/b/g WiFi, DVD burner and a supposed 7 to 9 hours of battery life. Next, the W5 and T5 feature a 1.06GHz Core Solo processor, 12.1-inch display, and the W5 has an internal DVD burner while the T5 do not. Finally, the R5 features a smaller 10.4-inch display for best portability.

Among all the goodies in these notebooks, perhaps the only bad thing is that they are Japan-only for now. Alternatively, keep an eye on eBay for the Japanese selling them.
