Digital Camera

Why lug around heavy lenses when you could use a cardboard SLR?

Why spend hundreds, when you could make a SLR camera out of cardboards? Oh, because the wind might blow your camera away.

But that’s not going to stop a certain anonymous shutterbug from spending hours building his/her very own cardboard SLR camera.

Of course, the camera does not come with any fancy technology, and it uses a simple pencil to advance its film. But hey, it’s perhaps one of the coolest homemade gadgets ever made.

Here are some pictures of the building process, and unfortunately, there are no instructions. But the good people from Gizmodo has promised to contact the creator and hope to dig some words out from him/her.

Now, we’ll be really amazed if someone could make us a digital one.

The orange lever pulls up the mirror before exposure. Rear view of the camera.
As you can see, the camera is pretty compact. Look ma, an image!

More pictures.
