Non-pro photographers looking to go into DSLR will be happy to hear that Pentax has announced their new K100D and K110D DSLR cameras.
These two entry-level DSLR are identical, except that K100D features the very useful Shake Reduction technology. Until now, Konica Minolta 5D and 7D are the only DSLRs that sports Anti-Shake technology built right into the camera body, while Canon and Nikon only have them in some of their more costly lenses. And since Konica Minolta has been bought over by Sony, the Pentax K100D offers a great opportunity to own a Shake Reduction DSLR without having to wait for Sony to release their very own DSLRs.
The feature set looks great on paper, definitely comparable to other entry-level DSLR.
- 6.1-megapixels CCD sensor
- 11-point auto-focus system
- ISO 200 to 3200
- 2.5-inch LCD with 210,000 pixel resolution
- 18-55mm kit lens
- Up to 5fps for JPEG and 3fps for RAW
- Runs on 4 x AA batteries
The K100D is expected to ship in July at $699, while the K110D is set to release in August at $599.
