Who would’ve thought of marrying a pair of shoes to an iPod? But it’s the kind of thing that makes you go “why didn’t I think of that?”. Slip a sensor into any Nike+ compatible shoe, and it’ll start sending data to your iPod Nano via a receiver. With data of your jogging speed, your iPod will pick suitable tracks to play. It also tells you how far you are from your destination, what speed you are running at and how long you took to complete the course. You can even play a “power” song for that last dash to the finish line.
That’s not all. Plug your iPod into its dock, and it’ll send your jogging information to the new NikePlus.com website, which keeps track of your progress.
Here’s a video of the pair in action.
Who knows, this might be the perfect motivation for me to get back to jogging.

What a waste of money and time. If I want to run at a certain pace, I switch the song.
Very useless idea indeed.

I agree with boriz.
This is a horrible waste of time and money. If you want to put a microchip in a shoe - that’s fine - but find a good reason to do it please.
Ipod is one of the crappiest mp3 players on the market - AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN. Buy an Archos, Buy ANYTHING else. Everyone buys an Ipod to be a trendy moron and try to gain acceptance from their lamer friends.
The best part is when the ipod battery dies and they do not offer a replacement, but rather expect you to buy a new ipod. Oh well at least you can be a trend-following idiot with an inferior product that communicates with your shoes NEEDLESSLY!!! I’m soooo proud of you!

Geez David, someone’s bitter. I don’t have an iPod but have friends who do with mixed opinions on it. The way you’re talking, it was like you were abused by an iPod.. Whats your big gripe?

yeah…uh, first off, they do offer a replacement. (i’ve replaced my ipod’s battery three times and never had to pay for a replacement and they make it extremely easy to do, providing you apply online)
second…maybe people want an ipod because it works well, organizes there music, and actually does look pretty cool…
i have tried numerous other players, but the ipod / itunes interface was just the easiest and mpst user friendly for me.
btw, my teacher bought a nike mp3 that was supposed to do just this thing (the movie) but it was total crap
maybe itll be better this time

Electronic shoes??? I’m not a techophile. I don’t see the point.
Just like HDTV. I’ll stop watching TV before I’ll waste money on another TV set. I hardly watch the one I have now.
I’ve got better things to do than shop for useless gadgets.
