Eating plastic! Yucks!

Yup, that guy is eating plastic alright. Not regular plastic of course, but plastic by Plantic, which is made from edible corn-starch. The plastic is not made for consumption, but an interesting edibility demonstration nonetheless.

Being compostable and dissolvable in water in under 20 seconds, Plantic is great for the environment. Right now, it is being used rather widely for confectionary trays and merchanise packagings. And there are plans to use it in other applications such as mosquito traps that will break down after the insecticide runs out.
