Sigma has announced today a new telephoto lens that will definitely woo many SLR users. The new Sigma 50-150mm f2.8 APO DC is a fast f2.8 telephoto zoom lens that weighs just 27.2oz (770g). That is almost half of the weight of current f2.8 telephoto zoom offerings (such as Sigma’s very own 70-200mm f2.8 DG, Canon’s 70-200mm f2.8 IS/non-IS and Nikon’s 70-200mm VR).
And with a 35mm equivalent of 75 to 225 mm, it could make for a pretty fine portrait lens.
