Televisions...how can we ever survive without it.

If you remember yourself when you were a kid, I’m sure you’ll recall how you seem to be stuck to the television whenever your favorite cartoon is screening. And how difficult was it for your mum to pull you away from it and onto the dinner table. It is a known fact that every kid is attracted to the telly.

So, Carlo Bellieni and his team of researchers from University of Siena in Italy decided to conduct some tests to prove how televisions can distract children so much that it acts as a “painkiller”. It is done by poking 72 children aged 7 to 12 with hypodermic needles, some while watching the television and some coaxed by their mums.

The results have shown that those watching TV reported 50 percent less pain than those being coaxed by mums. Even a mother’s touch could not ease a child as a television does.
