Perhaps you still remember the suing and countersuing drama between Apple and Creative just a few months ago. Today, Apple announced that it would be putting $100 Million in Creative’s pockets to settle all patent litigation over the iPod.

The settlement now gives Apple the license to use the hierarchical song selection interface that is patented by Creative. Immediately following the announcement, U.S-traded shares of Creative surged 37 percent.

What comes as a surprise is that Creative announced that it’ll be joining Apple’s “Made for iPod” program, making music accessories that will bear the “Made for iPod” seal. What’s up with this lovey dovey stuff?

Well as a Singaporean, what can I say? I’m happy for Creative.
