If you stay in a warm country as I do, I’m sure you love it whenever it rains while you’re napping. But more often than not, the sky just likes to turn gray only while you’re out. So there’s no denying that umbrellas are one of the greatest thing since sliced bread!
But as useful as they are, they tend to get, erm, wet. Often, we’ve to resort to frantically shaking the umbrella just to dry it enough to step into the house. However, it looks like we now have a solution to that problem. The NanoNuno is an umbrella that requires just a gentle shake and all dirt and moisture rolls off it effortlessly.
The NanoNuno does it by employing nanotechnology and modeling after the lotus leaf. Lotus leaves have microscopic, rough nanostructure on them, which means very little surface area for water and dirt to stick on. This result in water and dirt being much easier to shake off, compared to traditional smooth surfaces.
The NanoNuno is currently available from ProIdee.co.uk, priced at a whooping £49.95 (~US$95). A little crazy for an umbrella, but imagine the look on your friends’ faces as you magically dry it with a simple shake!
