According to The China Times from Taiwan, Apple is indeed making an iPhone. The phone will arrive by first or second quarter of 2007 and is rumored to come with a 2-megapixel camera.
They must be joking, only 2-megapixel?! But who really cares, it will probably still sell like steaming hot pancakes.
What else we know:
- Foxconn subsidiary AlusTech supplies the digital camera module
- Largan makes the camera lens
- Micron does the CMOS sensor
- Intel throws in their memory
- Sharp produces the LCD display
- Tripod Technology brings forth their circuit board
- Broadcom offers their baseband chip
- Sunrex manufactures its keypad
- Catcher Technology fashions iPod casing that we are all so familiar with
Are your iPod and MacBook excited about this new roommate?
Note: The picture above is NOT the real deal!

It’s so “real” that it flew under ilounge.com’s radar. I’d give Apple more credit than to come up with something as less attractive and simple as the basic iPod. But hey, I could be wrong.
