Instead of requiring two backlights like in traditional double-sided LCD, Samsung’s latest innovation requires just one. The LCD is capable of showing different images on each side of the display. This could mean that mobile devices can soon be made even thinner by that last precious bit of 1mm.
The screens have a resolution of 240×320 and are currently on display at CES 2007.
