Solid state disks (SSD) are great stuffs for mobile devices. They are faster, silent, lighter, and consume less power, perfect for use in laptops. But, the problem right now lies in their prices, since they are still very new.
Lucky for us, there is Ritek.
They have announced that they will be shipping 16GB and 32GB RiDATA SSDs this year, at only $169 for the 16GB 1.8-inch model and $199 for the 16GB 2.5-inch model. Their 32GB will probably still end up cheaper than SanDisk’s $600 32GB SSD.
Still, traditional harddisk drives will cost much lesser for a while. But, it’s great to see a price war already brewing in the SSD world.

That is just crazy how small these things keep getting, soon they will be the size of a grain of rice with 500 GB on it.
