Too lazy to try on shoes? Well then you should start shopping for shoes at The Adidas Shop in Paris. It is Adidas’ very first store that has “virtual shopping mirrors.”
These “mirrors” actually have cameras in them, which lets you “try on” shoes virtually and see how it looks on you. You won’t get to know whether the shoes fit you, but if you are lazy, this is the next best thing.
This virtual mirror has been developed by researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications and Heinrich-Hertz-Institute HHI, in Berlin.
Unlike a conventional mirror this one does not display a true reflection. Instead this mirror makes use of cameras that capture the feet and legs of the customer. The images are then merged with shoes thanks to a 3-D image processing technology. The system is so fast that it allows the customers to move in real time.
It also makes a good way to quickly try on every single shoe that the shop carries.

For the sake of fitting the shoes…I wouldn’t wanna use this..but yeah its ok for seeing how a certain color or shoe looks on you. That should be in all stores!

This is really cool and interesting, but no doubt could be even better. For instance, if it just looks like a cut out photoshop (though of good quality) of shoe. sort of pasted over the customers foot, that’s not as good as it could be. It could be made to look like it was really on the customers foot, like 3D.
Well, I haven’t gotten to use one yet, but that what’s I say.
