We all know how projectors look pretty bad under the influence of sunlight. Nothing you can do about it except finding some ways to somehow block those darn sun-rays.

But!

That is before the DNP Supernova Screen. This new gadget uses some kind of filter in the screen to absorb outside light, while not interfering with the projector’s light. So, the result is ten times greater contrast and brightness than conventional screens.

It even comes in fixed or retractable versions. No price stated on DNP’s website, but they do have a list of authorized resellers so you may locate one near you.

So how can you prevent that from happening to your new HDTV? Why, by standing far away from the TV of course. But, how far can you go?

Two dudes by the name of Mike and Luke decided to do a little test on the Wiimote’s maximum range, and it turned out to be up to 400 feet (~122 meters). How crazy! Bowling on Wii Sports: Bowling was supposedly still pretty accurate even from across the street.

Alternatively, get one of these JOYTECH Wii Silicon Gloves if your TV is not mega-huge and you can’t see a damn thing from 400 feet away.

The wrist strap should have saved the Wiimote from flying right? Apparently not, as the strap broke at the same moment.

And so that white, solid brick of Wiimote flew right at the 60-inch rear projection TV like a bullet and cracked that monster’s face.
If you remember yourself when you were a kid, I’m sure you’ll recall how you seem to be stuck to the television whenever your favorite cartoon is screening. And how difficult was it for your mum to pull you away from it and onto the dinner table. It is a known fact that every kid is attracted to the telly.

So, Carlo Bellieni and his team of researchers from University of Siena in Italy decided to conduct some tests to prove how televisions can distract children so much that it acts as a “painkiller”. It is done by poking 72 children aged 7 to 12 with hypodermic needles, some while watching the television and some coaxed by their mums.

The results have shown that those watching TV reported 50 percent less pain than those being coaxed by mums. Even a mother’s touch could not ease a child as a television does.

So if run a child clinic, go get yourself a spanking new plasma TV and load it up with cartoons.

Hell has frozen over! A survey commissioned by U.S. cable television’s Oxygen Network has shown that 77 percent of the 1,400 women surveyed actually prefer a new plasma television to a diamond necklace.

“People make the assumption that women are not as advanced as men when it comes to technology and I was surprised at the parity men and women now have in terms of technology,” Geraldine Laybourne, chairman and chief executive of Oxygen Network said.

The survey has also revealed that women on average own 6.6 technology gadgets, while men own 6.9.

I reckon it has much to do with the gadgets looking prettier nowadays. Or perhaps much of the credit goes to technology websites that are dedicate to women, such as Popgadget.

So for our male readers, is this a good news to you or a bad one?

Four pounds of 24-carat solid gold coats the 71-inch mammoth, along with its accompanying 600W home cinema surround sound system.

Both the gold and the more discreet black version features an ultra-HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, and both HDMI and DVI inputs.

Being a limited edition, only 1,000 units of this gold plasma TV is available. So if you’ve got spare £70,000 (~US$132,000) lying somewhere, do put them to good use by getting a gold-plated LG 71PY10. But if you could only spare £50,000 (~US$95,000), we’ll still dig both you and your black LG 71PY10.
